Yellow Beeswax

Yellow beeswax is a staple in cosmetics because it doesn't just sit on the skin—it forms a protective, breathable barrier. It owes its structural and therapeutic properties to a complex mix of over 300 natural compounds.

The breakdown of the key compounds in yellow beeswax:

Myricyl Palmitate (and other wax esters): Making up about 70% of the wax, these long-chain esters act as a powerful emollient and occlusive. They lock in moisture, soften the skin texture, and give balms and lipsticks their smooth, creamy structure.

Free Fatty Acids: These help stabilize cosmetic emulsions (keeping oils and waters from separating) while reinforcing the skin's natural lipid barrier to prevent water loss.

Carotenoids & Flavonoids: These are the natural plant pigments and antioxidants responsible for the wax’s signature yellow color. They provide anti-inflammatory and skin-soothing benefits, helping to calm irritated or chapped skin.

Hydrocarbons: These compounds create a water-resistant layer on the skin. Unlike petroleum-based ingredients, beeswax is non-comedogenic (it won't clog pores), allowing the skin to breathe while shielding it from environmental harshness.
